Words can’t begin to express what it feels like to fall in and out of love for the first time, but music can.  Michigan-born, Ohio-based BJSR uses his ‘vocal chords and six strings’ to do just that in this enlightened take on the singer/songwriter LP. 

The result encompasses Midwestern ingenuity and entrepreneurial passion, blending traditionally simplistic folk writing with lush modern production. In each of the 10 self-produced tracks, the charismatic troubadour touches on tough topics and leans into genres and soundscapes that are familiar yet surprising.

Imagine if a young Paul Simon had a laptop in Africa, or if Cat Stevens had a DSLR out on tour? What if James Taylor had voice memos in the woods? What if those classic singer/songwriter archetypes were connected to the world we live in today? Ben gives us a glimpse of what that might look like.
